Lagos State Police Arrests 6 Armed Robbers In Agbara
The Lagos State Police Command on June 12, 2017, arrested six suspected armed robbers terrorising the Agbara road, Atan-Ota of Ogun and Lagos state.
At about 05:45hrs of the said date the command operatives while on patrol sighted some hoodlums at Progress Hotel situated at Agbara road, these hoodlums specialise in Armed Robbery, snatching of vehicles, snatching of handbags and other valuables from their victims after they rob unsuspecting members of the public.
The police operatives swiftly moved to the scene and apprehended the hoodlums one knife, one locally made pistol and one live cartridge was recovered from the gang including a Peugeot 206 with no registration number Green in colour that they use for robbery operation between Lagos and Ogun State.
The suspects, Lawal sikini, segun seda, lanre bello, Lawal mayowa , Azeez Mustapha and Tijani quryum were arrested with exhibits. The suspects have made confessional statements and are now giving useful information to the police. Investigations are ongoing and efforts to arrest other gang members are in high gear.
The command’s PPRO, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole PPRO advised members of the public to be vigilant whenever they go about their lawful business in the society to avoid being victims of such nefarious activities. The Lagos state Commissioner of Police said the suspect would be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti Yaba for further investigation. Owoseni advised residents to be vigilant and security conscious at all times.
